WHAT OUR PARTICIPANTS SAY
"I served in the Golani Brigade and was
discharged just days before October 7th. I
returned to America, torn and unable to rejoin
my unit due to an injury. But I knew I had to come
back to Israel. That’s when I found Yedid L’Boded.
They became my home. Suddenly I was given
mentors, a family and connection. The retreats,
the conversations, the community... Without
Yedid L’Boded, I’m not sure I’d still be in Israel"

"I made aliyah in August of last year. From when
I moved here, Yedid L’Boded has just been a
source of help…when I first got here, Ariella Denitz
brought me about 50 books because she heard
that I wanted them…They literally come through
for everything. It’s not just Shabbatons, it’s not
just their BBQs, it’s not just their events they do
here and there: their Chanukah party, their Purim
party…you need them, you text them, you call
them, they’re there for you, helping you. They
want what’s best for all of us. They’re just such a
source of help. They’re there through the highs
and the lows…I love Yedid L’Boded."

"The past six months…I have spent the majority
of my time in Lebanon and in Gaza and not
really coming back…I heard about the (YLB
spiritual wellness retreat) from a friend, and
was surprised to see that it was free and
everything was done for you, all you had to do
was show up...I got to share my experience with
the pre-draft soldiers, current soldiers, and
heard some amazing stories of bravery…the
event was very moving."

"“They always make sure that we’re never
alone…they do the coolest events for
us…things that you usually do with
your family-but as we have no one here–
they’re our family…I know that if I ever
need help or guidance with anything, I
can always go to them and they’ll always
be there for me."
